Daily Homework
Life Skills Homework Assignments & Schedule - please remember that academics in the classroom are based upon indiviudal IEP goals as well as functional academics and daily living skills needed for each student to be successful in his or her own community environment.
Every night there will be a homework folder sent home with important information, personal assignments, and a story starter responsibility sheet in it. Please complete this with the student, sign your name, and return it to school. It will also need to be completed over the weekends.
All homework assignments and missing assignments are posted on the board each day for students to copy down. If your student is unable to write, we will try to send home personalized progress reports at least twice a week. However, if your student has the ability to type, he or she will type a progress journal activity report and bring it home daily. You will receive IEP progress reports (Form W) on a quarterly basis, at the same time as report cards.
PE Forms, Computer Contracts, Internet Picture Permissions, and Emergency Contact forms need to be returned if you have not done so already as soon as possible.
Most assignments can be completed during classtime with assistance from the teacher or paraprofessionals. It is rare for a student to have written homework unless he or she is not utilizing class time. Students are given time for guided learning practice at the end of the day where they can work individually or with an adult to complete any assignments.

Before you become too entranced with gorgeous gadgets and mesmerizing video displays, let me remind you that information is not knowledge, knowledge is not wisdom, and wisdom is not foresight. Each grows out of the other, and we need them all. - Arthur C. Clarke
